Dear Fellow BHS Alumnus,
The weekend of June 25 is now just around the corner and we are counting the days before a very large group of Benson High School classmates and friends gather to remember old times, catch up with each other, and renew old friendships. The All School Reunion Committee has been working for well over a year now to plan three days (June 25, 26, and 27) of what we hope are memorial times for graduates, their spouses and families.
Right now, we need to get a better idea of just how many graduates will be coming home. It is important that those who have not registered do so as soon as possible. It is easy to do; either on our web site or by picking up a form at one of the many locations around the community that have them.
You can find a full schedule of reunion events on the web site. You can also register to participate in the parade and in the alumni marching band. Volunteers are still being sought to help with some of the events.
The last time we all gathered was in 1990 and nearly 3,000 people were in Benson for the event.
We still need classmates to consider making a donation to help defray the costs of the reunion. Web site development, letters, tents, tables, chairs, porta potties, and entertainment are just a few of the costs that we face as we organize the All School Reunion. Our goal is to raise a minimum of $25,000, which would cover 100 percent of our current estimated expenses for the reunion. Any funds left over at the end of the reunion will be donated to the Benson Area Community Foundation and the Benson High School Scholarship Fund.
